What are the ear beads made of?

The gold-plated ear seeds are made from ionised gold-plated metal alloy.  They come on a clear, medical-grade adhesive plaster. While they are not made with nickel, trace amounts may be acquired during the production process so we advise those with a nickel-allergy to avoid or do a patch test before use.

You can remove them by peeling the plaster off with your fingernails or tweezers. Ensure the ear is angled towards the ground so the beads cannot fall into the ear canal. You may occasionally lose a bead from rubbing on your pillow or in hte shower.  If this happens, simply clean the area with an alcohol wipe and replace it with a new one.

The ear map works as a reflexology map of the ear, with areas linked to bodily functions.  If you are worried you are not exact in the placement, the bead will still be in the area of the pressure point.

If you are pregnant or think you may be pregnant, it is advisable NOT to use a home ear acupressure kit.

Gold-plated ear beads should not cause significant pain. Sensitivity can actually be a sign that the point corresponds to an area of the body which needs attention.

If however you experience significant pain or any adverse affects, such as irritation, itching or burning of the skin, remove immediately and seek professional advice.

Due to the small and magnetic nature of the ear beads, the home ear acupressure kits are not recommended for use in infants and young children.
